Meet the team

Dr Rory graduated from Queens University in 2001, and has completed a post-graduate diploma in restorative dentistry from University College London, and followed this up with a Masters degree in restorative and aesthetic dentistry from the University of Manchester. Rory is a multidisciplinary dentist who practices all aspects of dentistry, such as digital dentistry, gum grafting/re-contouring, aesthetic rehabilitations and implant dentistry incorporating bone grafts. Rory also carries out teeth in a day implant procedures in the upper/lower jaws or both.

Rory has lectured and run courses relating to implant/aesthetic/digital dentistry. He has won numerous industry awards relating to his dentistry and has won 4 UK Aesthetic Dentistry Awards. He has recently won a Randox Clinical Excellence award which encompasses all healthcare providers in Northern Ireland.

Rory has recently opened a digital dental laboratory called Elevate Dental Designs, and through his collaboration with his business partner, Neil Berkley RDT, have created two new digi-clinical workflows called Signature Smile and Studio Smile.

Dermot qualified from QUB in 2001 and, after several years working north and south of the border, moved to Edinburgh to work in a private practice. He became interested in periodontics (disease and treatment of the supporting structures of teeth) and in 2011 was awarded an MSc (honours) specialising in this subject at Glasgow Dental Hospital. While there he lectured in periodontal disease and worked in the consultant clinic of the Glasgow restorative department.

After liasing closely with Scottish immunologists he published work on the role that bacteria and the immune response play in the pathogenesis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. This academic grounding enables Dermot to focus on the treatment of tooth infections (endodontics) and gum infections (periodontics) as well as providing novel facial rejuvenation treatments based on harnessing the healing mechanisms of the human body.

Dermot is interested in advanced aesthetics and has attended various detailed courses covering many restorative techniques including the placement and restoration of dental implants, dermal fillers, and PRGF-Endoret.

Mary Catherine is an Enniskillen native, who was initially drawn to dentistry because of her interest in art and design. After graduating from undergraduate study at Queens University Belfast, Mary Catherine moved to Edinburgh where spent time honing advanced skills within specialist departments; specifically, special care dentistry, paediatric dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery and restorative dentistry.

Following training in Restorative and Surgical specialities, Mary Catherine provides advanced dental treatment such as dental implants, surgical extractions, crown and bridgework. At present her most popular treatment is the Align, Brighten and Contour procedure, which entails Invisalign, Whitening and Composite Bonding, a skill that she honed by learning from Dr Monik Vasant.

Building on a knowledge base of surgical and restorative techniques, Mary Catherine is currently undertaking training in dental implantology, and is on course to complete a postgraduate diploma in 2023. She is also studying for a master’s degree in advanced aesthetic restorative dentistry, accredited by the University of Portsmouth.

Trudi graduated with Distinction from Queens University Belfast in 2011. As a student she won numerous awards including the LM Award for highest marks and best overall student. Trudi has won the prestigious DCP Award for Special Care Dentistry presented by the Irish Society for Disability & Oral Health. She was also delighted to be a finalist for Northern Ireland's Dental Hygienist of the Year 2016.

Trudi has a keen interest in dental public health and research, and she has lectured both locally and at international level. She has several academic publications in peer-reviewed journals including the British Dental Journal and Dental Health. She is co-author of the collaborative evidence based text book Dentistry in Prisons.

Trudi carries out all aspects of dental hygienist treatments and works closely with the dentists to establish and maintain a personalised preventative program for each patient, tailored to their specific oral health needs. She is a member of both the British Society for Dental Hygiene and Therapy, and the Association of Dental Implantology. She continues to update her knowledge through postgraduate courses.

Keeva qualified as a dental nurse in 2008. She has a vast amount of experience, including three years at the Darwin Government Dental Clinic in Australia.

Since joining us in 2017, she has greatly improved her knowledge and has become experienced in dental implant nursing and the advanced procedures that we carry out at Blue Sky.
