Meet the team

Dermot qualified from QUB in 2001 and, after several years working north and south of the border, moved to Edinburgh to work in a private practice. He became interested in periodontics (disease and treatment of the supporting structures of teeth) and in 2011 was awarded an MSc (honours) specialising in this subject at Glasgow Dental Hospital. While there he lectured in periodontal disease and worked in the consultant clinic of the Glasgow restorative department.

After liasing closely with Scottish immunologists he published work on the role that bacteria and the immune response play in the pathogenesis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. This academic grounding enables Dermot to focus on the treatment of tooth infections (endodontics) and gum infections (periodontics) as well as providing novel facial rejuvenation treatments based on harnessing the healing mechanisms of the human body.

Dermot is interested in advanced aesthetics and has attended various detailed courses covering many restorative techniques including the placement and restoration of dental implants, dermal fillers, and PRGF-Endoret.

Angus is a dedicated dentist known for his gentle, patient focused manner and meticulous approach to care. With over 11 years of experience, seven in private practices across New Zealand and the UK he offers both depth and breadth of expertise. Patients appreciate his calm demeanour and consistently high standards. He has a special interest in dental implantology and recently completed a master’s degree with distinction in the field (June 2025), gaining advanced clinical knowledge and hands-on skills to deliver high-quality implant solutions. Committed to ongoing processional development, Angus stays at the forefront of dental advancements to provide the best care possible.

Outside work, he enjoys time with his young family and leading an active lifestyle. A keen runner and cyclist, he values the mental and physical benefits of fitness, bringing that same discipline to his professional life.

I graduated from Queens University, Belfast in 2008 and have stayed in general dental practice over the last 18 years. I have special interests in orthodontics and aesthetic dentistry, including the use of modern digital technology, to achieve an individual smile you can be proud of. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my young family and the occasional attempt at getting round a golf course.

Caitlin joined our team in June 2022. She had previously worked in the hospitality sector for over 8 years & was looking for a new adventure within the dental sector. Caitlin started her Blue Sky journey at reception, and has recently begun her new role exciting Role as Treatment Coordinator. She loves spending her free time with family & friends.

Trudi graduated with Distinction from Queens University Belfast in 2011. As a student she won numerous awards including the LM Award for highest marks and best overall student. Trudi has won the prestigious DCP Award for Special Care Dentistry presented by the Irish Society for Disability & Oral Health. She was also delighted to be a finalist for Northern Ireland's Dental Hygienist of the Year 2016.

Trudi has a keen interest in dental public health and research, and she has lectured both locally and at international level. She has several academic publications in peer-reviewed journals including the British Dental Journal and Dental Health. She is co-author of the collaborative evidence based text book Dentistry in Prisons.

Trudi carries out all aspects of dental hygienist treatments and works closely with the dentists to establish and maintain a personalised preventative program for each patient, tailored to their specific oral health needs. She is a member of both the British Society for Dental Hygiene and Therapy, and the Association of Dental Implantology. She continues to update her knowledge through postgraduate courses.
